SCALE & CORROSION INHIBITOR CARTRIDGES

The P-1Scalex cartridge is a breakthrough in scale, corrosion, taste and odour protection. This innovative cartridge provides controlled release of Siliphos, a food grade scale and corrosion inhibitor. Controlled release provides effective scale and corrosion protection for the life of the cartridge. The Siliphos is combined with a catalytic activated carbon; thus preventing bonding and caking, common with granular poly-phosphate cartridges.

Siliphos is a unique product that works to inhibit both scale and corrosion. The poly-phosphate in Siliphos acts to sequester the crystal nuclei (calcium carbonate ) found in most tap water that form scale, particularly on metal surfaces. The silicate in Siliphos acts by forming a monomolecular protective layer on the surface of the metal components of food service equipment (coffee makers) plumbing and hot water tanks. This layer prevents corrosion from aggressive water or chlorine in the water.
